Our art gallery celebrates the creative accomplishments of individuals with developmental disabilities. We invite you to share in these fresh, exciting and innovative paintings. Like the changing seasons, which many of these images represent, each painting offers distinct colors and personality, and evokes different feelings and emotions. Yet, each has a common bond: they inspire, provoke thought, and represent the creative contributions individuals with developmental disabilities make to the greater community. We invite you to cherish these works, and join each individual on an artistic journey.

The Artistic Journey

Many individuals with developmental disabilities use art as a method to enhance their self-esteem, individuality and creative thinking. Westchester Arc’s art classes, for example, help individuals share their culture, experiences and feelings, to come together in a nurturing and supportive community. Even those who are shy, or non-verbal, can use art to communicate their thoughts and desires. Below you may view a sample of some artwork displayed in gallery265.

Art and Opportunities

The Art Gallery is just one example of the unique opportunities our new Gleeson-Israel Gateway Center creates for individuals with developmental disabilities. The entire building is a gallery—providing expanded conference centers, multimedia training areas and a large auditorium where we gather as a community to better serve individuals with developmental disabilities.

Come visit our Gateway Center and browse through the gallery.
